Awesome – thank you…..
I’m the author of Raising Non-Writers, Non-Artists. Schneider and Smith’s Nonreader piece inspired me. I’m thrilled to learn that my pieces inspired you to create one about Raising Non Tech Savvy Students. I will share your list with my students and faculty. Press on!
Hi, Kathy….
I’m glad you liked the book that Swen and I did about Coach Wooden’s teaching principles. We are still finding ways to work his ideas into our ongoing research, and program for helping districts and schools implement teacher learning teams. Swen and I are working on another book about a young high school coach who was about to lose his job because his teams were not successful, and he realized he was a poor “teaching” coach. I got him to meet Coach Wooden, and three years later his team won a championship and he was named coach of the year. His success has continued, and we have been able to document how he learned to teach more effectively. My purpose is to provide a compelling example of how teaching can be improved and that this can be a life-long commitment. As a 71 year emeritus professor, I am still in need of improvement. Like Coach W says, “when you are through learning, you are through.” Best regards, Ron
Keep up the pro dev!
